What is it?

The ECO (Energy Company Obligation) is a government energy efficiency scheme across the UK. It requires energy suppliers to fund energy efficiency improvements to domestic properties, focusing on vulnerable households and those most likely to be impacted by fuel poverty. Under ECO4, companies like Easy Green Grants are able to access this funding, deliver energy efficiency measures such as insulation and heating upgrades to low-income households and properties that are hard to treat. The scheme aims to reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty.

How Do I Qualify?

You will qualify for this funding if anyone living in your property is in receipt of one of the below benefits.

You do not need to own your property to qualify, although we will need permission from your landlord to carry out the work.

Pension Credit

Housing Benefit

Income Based ESA

Universal Credit

Income Support

Jobseekers Allowance

Child Tax Credit

Working Tax Credit

Child Benefit*

If you don’t receive any of the above benefits but have a household income less than £31,000 per year, you may still qualify.

What Home Improvements Can I Receive?

ECO4 takes a ‘whole house approach’ and does not focus on one particular home improvement. Instead, a surveyor looks at all the features of your house and can help you access several of the below measures to make the largest energy savings. In certain properties it is possible to receive 4 or even 5 of these measures at the same time, with no customer contribution.
